Harvesting Service for Your Mason Bees 

At Crown Bees, we are dedicated to helping you cultivate a healthy and productive Mason bee population. Our comprehensive Mason Bee Cocoon Harvest Service ensures the health and vitality of your bees through meticulous hand harvesting, cocoon cleaning, pest removal measures, and a multi-step inspection process before they are set into our climate-controlled storage overwinter. 

This service, designed for batches of up to 250 reeds/inserts, includes free FedEx 2-day return shipping of your cocoons in the spring. Join us in supporting the health of your Mason bees! 

We Provide 

Cocoon Harvesting and Cleaning processes are thorough and gentle, ensuring that each cocoon is free from debris and mold. We use hand-harvesting techniques and an intensive multi-step inspection process to guarantee the cocoons are healthy and ready to overwinter. 

Effective pest removal is critical for the health of your mason bee population, including removing common threats such as pollen mites, Houdini flies, and fungal infections. We employ eco-friendly solutions that are safe for bees and the environment. Clean Bee™ solution is a naturally occurring safe bleach alternative providing a safe treatment for your Mason bee cocoons. 

Monitoring bee health and proper care of your colony is essential to ensure a thriving population. We will share our harvest report of the pests and diseases seen in the nesting materials during harvesting. We are always available to support you with recommendations and suggestions for next season's success! 

Overwinter Storage of your cocoons in our climate-controlled cooler. 

Steps for Your Submission

Annual maintenance of less than 250 reeds/inserts starts with your shipping the nesting material to us. We take it from there!

• Mail to: Crown Bees, 13410 NE 177th Place, Woodinville, WA 98072
• Mail your box of unharvested and filled tubes or reeds, padded with a bit of newspaper or paper towels. Please include your NAME and ORDER NUMBER with your submitted cocoons. Shipping via standard US Postal Service is fine, the cost of shipping your cocoons to us will be at your expense. 

Once your nesting materials arrive, we will:

• Harvest your cocoons.
• Clean, Inspect, and Share our cocoon harvest report with you.
• Overwinter your cocoons in a climate-controlled cooler.
• Send your cocoons back to you on your selected ship date by free FedEx 2-day.
