Are you unsure which reeds are partially filled with cocoons and which are empty and can be reused next season?
Our Cocoon Finder helps you determine if cocoons are hiding in the back or if the reed is empty. Insert the Cocoon Finder into the open end of the reed. If the green portion of the reed is visible, then the reed is likely partially filled with cocoons to be harvested. If the green part of the reed is not visible, then the reed is likely empty and can be reused next season.
Note: Reeds have inner linings that may sometimes get in the way and make you think you have cocoons inside. Push the Cocoon Finder into each reed; when you feel it come to a hard "stop," that's likely either the mud wall of the last cocoon or, if the green is not showing, the node at the end of the reed.
