Instructions: InvitaBee Attractant

Our InvitaBee attractants are proprietary products that contain a nesting scent attractive to spring mason bees or summer leafcutter bees. Our bees like to nest where bees have nested before and InvitaBee makes your nesting holes smell like home.

Each InvitaBee kit contains 1.5ml of InvitaBee pheromone spray and 5 natural reeds. Reeds are included as a visual attractant for your bees.

Crown Bees holds the USDA patent license for the InvitaBee Plus+ Mason Bee Attractant, this pheromone is an attractant for all Osmia bee species (about 350 worldwide.) The formula for InvitaBee™ Spray Leafcutter Bee Attractant was developed by Crown Bees.

Instructions
Place reeds with open ends facing out and insert into the bee house as far back as possible. After the bees have completed their flying season, place the reeds in a BeeGuard bag until harvest.

Each vial of InvitaBee attractant includes about 20 sprays of the attractant and on average this is enough for two bee houses. Immediately prior to the release of your bee cocoons, wear gloves and lightly and evenly spray InvitaBee on the open ends of your nesting material. The scent of InvitaBee lasts for about 3 weeks, which is ample time for attracting nesting bees.

  • Use InvitaBee Plus+ Mason Bee Attractant on the front of 8mm sized nesting holes.
  • Use InvitaBee™ Spray Leafcutter Bee Attractant on the front of 6mm sized nesting holes.

How to Open Natural Reeds
Pinch the open or capped end of the reed and the reed will begin to split. Carefully pull the reed apart. We do not recommend reusing reeds because pest and disease buildup can kill your bee house population.

Store the remaining InvitaBee attractant in a cool, dark location. InvitaBee has a 2-year shelf life.
