Do solitary bees sting?

Q. Do solitary bees sting?

Female solitary bees are capable of stinging, however, they will only sting if they are in a life-threatening situation, like if they are accidentally squished in the keeper's hand.

Solitary bees have a very different sting compared to the honey bee. If you get stung by a mason bee or leafcutter bee, the sting is sharp but leaves no swelling and signs of the sting will be gone by the next day.
